My name is Daniel. I was an English teacher in Seoul, South Korea, and am now a writer who has

published three books including South Korea: Our Story by Daniel Nardini.

                                    One of the reasons why the Gaesong Industrial Complex was shut down 

was because the North Koreans in fact shut it down to punish South Korea, and then held South

Korean nationals hostage. Then former South Korean Park Geun-hye shut it down completely because

North Korea had broken all United Nations resolutions on the testing and development of nuclear

weapons. North Korea does this even today. Yet the South Korean government is considering

re-opening the industrial complex. This is something that should not occur, and I am sure that the

U.S. government and the United Nations will condemn any attempt to re-open the industrial 

complex because it will simply provide hard currency to the North Korean government to

further develop its illegal nuclear and missile technologies. In related news, the South Korean

government has carried out naval maneuvers to protect and defend South Korea's hold of the 

Dokdo Islets. Why? Japan will never attack or try to militarily take these islets. No matter how

much Japan may lay claim to them, Japan does NOT want to risk war with South Korea. Since

1945, when has Japan attacked anyone? Japan only offered criticisms and condemnation, but that

is all. The Japanese will not try anything else, and we have not seen any Japanese naval

exercises to take the Dokdo islets. I believe that even the Japanese realize that the Dokdo

islets are not worth risking war pr permanently damaging relations with South Korea.
